So there’s this: God Made Dad & Mom, by Amber Dee Parker, is a new children’s book meant to bash LGBT families in full color. “Endorsed by the American Family Association, God Made Dad & Mom tells the story of a young boy named Michael who prays for his classmate Jimmy and his two dads to learn ‘the truth’ about how God made them after a trip to the zoo where he’s told all animal families ‘consist of a male, a female, and their offspring.’” What a swell contribution to the realm of vitriolic children’s literature, Ms. Parker. I’m nearly 30…I’ve been playing the Zelda franchise for nearly 20 years…I still fail to see how she’s legendary. She stays in a castle most times, is being held by Ganon/Ganondorf, and can’t stay out of his way. Not to mention that she’s ASLEEP for all of Zelda 2, until Link wakes her right at the end. I mean, sure, she possesses a piece of the Triforce, but so does Link and Ganon, and occasionally she helps Link out when she’s not being held captive. But Link does almost all the hard work to rescue her time and time again. You don’t see a Mario game entitled Super Peach Bros, since similarly, Peach is frequently nabbed by Bowser and Mario has to traipse through the Mushroom Kingdom a bajillion times to save her. Unless Zelda IS Link, and then that throws the entire series for a loop. Her as Sheik, though? That was useful.

Haha. Hahaha. Hahahaha.
Hasn’t anyone ever told you it’s rude to tag your hate?
Just because someone doesn’t run in guns-a-blazin’ or sword held high doesn’t mean they’re USELESS. What about Wind Waker, where she was a fucking pirate captain before the whole business started? At a very young age, too. You don’t get much more badass than that.
Or how about shooting arrows from horseback? At a MOVING target? Horses aren’t like cars. They’re bumpy as fuck. I’ve ridden enough horses to tell you that. Not to mention saving Midna from certain death at the cost of her own life. You know, Midna? With the giant hand that fucked shit up? Midna, who helped save Link’s ass many a time?
Also, what part of Triforce of POWER do you not get? Of course someone’s gonna get overwhelmed by someone who has sheer power going for them. It takes a smart cookie to maneuver around them and undo all the shit they did, which is, hello, EXACTLY WHAT SHE DID.
Also, there IS a Mario game where you play as Peach rescuing Mario. It’s called Super Princess Peach. I played it. It’s a rather decent game. Some might call it a little sexist due to her powers being based on emotions, but I’m willing to cut her some slack due to one of said powers being TURNING INTO A GIANT NEAR-INVINCIBLE BALL OF HELLFIRE.
Yeah.
Get the fuck out of the Princess Zelda tag.

Reblogging this because some people STILL don’t get it
Yeah, maybe Link’s the Hero, but that doesn’t make Zelda useless.

I legitimately can not take anyone who calls themselves a Legend of Zelda fan seriously as a fan or a human being if they hold a negative opinion towards the princess. She is a character who is shown to rise up in adverse circumstance and this is made even more clear in the newer games. The classics did operate very strongly on a ‘damsel in distress’ pattern, but this is because that The Hyrule Fantasy was built with a similar structure to old fantasy stories. It’s become clear that through her actions in each game where she plays a role that she is a key character who, without the presence of, Link would be very very screwed.Ocarina of Time is a major example of this in that she evaded Ganondorf for seven years while in hiding, guiding Link through his way in the dangers of the story and is only caught in a moment of vulnerability at the end. Wind Waker is a beautiful example of how important Zelda is through Tetra. Spirit Tracks? She’s useless in SPIRIT TRACKS? Where she’s your sidekick?Twilight Princess? Wherein the Princess is less active in the game, but the major progressor of the story itself? Or did you not notice that detail? Let us not forget Skyward Sword, which she is also - again, WOW here - a key role and the major reason the game even happened. She literally, in this game, explained and defined the entire storyline and continued reincarnations of her and Link. Don’t talk shit about Zelda around the fandom we will fry your ass.

Zelda wasn’t useless since the very first game where she split up the Triforce of Wisdom to save time for Link to save her and Hyrule.
In the Adventure of Link, Zelda gave her life for the secret of the Triforce.
A Link to the Past she was one of the seven maidens.
Ocarina of time she was Sheik and the seventh sage, leader of all sages. She helped Link escape the castle and sealed Ganon away. She also gave Link the light arrow which is needed to defeat Ganondorf.
Windwaker she was Tetra, she helped Link in his quest to save his sister and later on save the world and fight side by side with Link against Ganon.
Twilight Princess, even if she wasn’t around.. She sacrificed her freedom for her people. Unlike Princess Midna, Zelda stood by her people and suffered and griefed for them. While Midna fled her own people to get revenge. Zelda sacrificed her life for Midna, Zelda also helps fighting against Ganondorf.
Spirit Tracks, Zelda is a ghost and can posses Phantoms. She was pretty badass fighting against Byrne.
Skyward Sword, Zelda has her own quest as the godess reborn. She helps by keeping the seal intact and blessing the Mastersword.
She IS the legend.

You guys are a bunch of fucking nerds

No one says that about Zelda.
No one. (ʘ‿ʘ✿)

‘And that’s when I first learned about evil. It is built in to the very nature of the universe. Every world spins in pain. If there is any kind of supreme being, I told myself, it is up to all of us to become his moral superior.’

Preach it, Caterpillar. The world could use some love right now.

Katrina is my best friend. Today is her birthday. I love her a lot because she always knows what to say when I am grumpy or sad. I don’t ask for favors much, but maybe you all could say nice birthday things to her. And if you like her amazingly cute comics, you should follow her while you’re there.
